Kelly and Philip exchanged nuptials at Union Station in Washington, D.C. Their save the date set the tone immediately: a train ticket–style design featuring custom artwork of the venue, paired with an engagement photo. The invitation suite continued to draw inspiration from Union Station’s iconic architecture. Inside the gate fold, an art deco–inspired pattern echoed the building’s interiors, while a gold wax seal held everything closed. A details insert was die cut to mimic the shape of the station’s ceiling, and the entire suite was letterpress printed with gold foil accents. To finish, the envelopes were lined in rich burgundy velvet. At cocktail hour, guests found pocket-style escort cards with delicate gingko leaf cutouts, a nod to the gingko-patterned linens used in the reception space. And when guests entered the ballroom, they discovered the same art deco pattern from the invitation suite brought to life again, this time across the dance floor. At each place setting, burgundy letterpress menus doubled as place cards, enclosed within a burgundy laser-cut gate and sealed with wax. The seal color subtly indicated each guest’s meal choice. The couple also incorporated coordinating day-of details throughout, including a geometric mirrored gold acrylic signature drink sign, table numbers, and more, creating a cohesive paper story rooted in place from start to finish.
